[edit] Gameplay

You are a young trainer about to leave Littleroot Town to become the greatest Pokemon Trainer in Hoenn. You need to collect Badges and capture and train Pokémon to make your way to the top of Trainer Dome, the Elite Four. On the road to success you'll be given little side-stories and quests to complete and engage in battles with the infamous villains of Hoenn Team Magma and Team Aqua. Now in a joined alliance, it is your duty to take them both down. Team Magma and Team Aqua's goal is to expand the land and water mass of the Hoenn Region using the power of the legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre. But instead of battling either one of these Pokémon, you now must face the Sky Pokémon, Rayquaza, and stop the feud between the beasts of land and sea. You can now capture each of these legendary Pokémon in separate locations throughout the Hoenn region with the help of team specific items.

Pokémon Emerald is a new action packed 3rd part of the Hoenn trio, and now that Rayquaza has a larger role in the story, and you can now catch both Groudon and Kyogre, this game is the most entertainment you'll get out of Hoenn.

[edit] New Features

A new area has been opened in Pokémon Emerald known as the Battle Frontier, it is a more advanced and more challenging way to test the skills of the best Pokémon trainers around. You'll now have to train even harder to beat the new Frontier Brains in order to obtain each of the 7 symbols of the frontier. This new feature is home to the;

All created by a new character you see throughout the main story; Scott.

You can now also connect to Pokemon Colloseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, FireRed and LeafGreen, with wireless multi-player trading and battling with up to 4 players with the new included wireless adapter. Also, a new move tutor has been introduced exclusive to Pokemon Emerald in which you can teach your Pokemon previously unobtainable moves for them, making the move set alot more varied. You can also now obtain Johto Pokémon in the Safari zone in order to complete the National Dex.

A new Elite Four champion has been placed as well as a new, unseen and exclusive 8th Gym leader.
