Pokémon Movie 12: Arceus and the Jewel of Life was released in Japan on the 18th of July, 2009. The first official trailer was released during the advertisements of the recent Pokemon 11 Movie. The film crew traveled, again, to Greece to find inspiration for settings and place names.

Another small clip of the movie was during episode 97, it showed the film crew around some ruins in Athens, Greece. As of yet the main pokemon to be included in this movie are: Arceus, Heatran, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and during an interview with the director revealed that Ash and a Pichu with a spiked ear would be the key in the movie.
