Pokémon Red and Blue Versions
(Redirected from Pokémon Red and Blue)
Pokémon Red and Blue Versions are part of a series of RPG games called "The Pokémon Series", and is part of the first generation of Pokémon games. As a young Pokémon Trainer, your goal is become the greatest Pokémon Master ever, by capturing and training up to 151 Pokémon. Not all Pokémon are available in one version, and you'll need to trade with friends using a Game Link cable to catch 'em all!
Although used on a Gameboy Color, the main pallet is red, black, and gray.
Contrary to popular belief, Pokémon Red and Blue weren't the first games released in the series, Japan actually received two games before this, which weren't shipped internationally, those titles were Pocket Monsters Aka and Pocket Monsters Midori (Pokémon Green and Pokémon Red).
After the success of the original "Aka and Midori" versions of the game, an enhanced "Ao" version (Pokémon Blue) was released in Japan. The enhanced "Ao" version was later reprogrammed and split into two versions for the international release, which later became the versions of Pokémon Red and Blue that were released in the United States on September 30, 1998.
A Pokémon Green ROM was released, however it was translated into English exactly from Japanese, and therefore is quite hard to understand, with captions such as "but unable to determine smoothly!", and "CATAP's firm tO assail!"
The main point of this game is to collect all 8 badges and become a Pokémon champion. thought this isn't attained easily as you need to train your Pokémon, and set them with the right tactics to be able to defeat them all and be the strongest.
Through out the game, you will fight your rival (default: Gary Oak). He is always trying to become a better Pokémon trainer than you, and finally becomes the Pokémon Champion. He is the last storyline boss, as well as a mid-boss many times as well.
In the original Japanese releases, the protagonist of each game were named after the game's color, i.e., the protagonist of Red is "Red," while the rival in Red is "Blue," and vice-versa for the Blue version of the game. This pattern repeated for the main series of games until the release of the 5th Generation games Pokémon Black and White in 2010.
