Pokémon Trading Card

A Pokémon Trading Card is a card that is to be used during the duel or even for collecting. There are 5 common types of cards: Base Pokémon, Stage 1 Pokémon, Stage 2 Pokémon, Trainer and Energy.

Pokémon

Base Pokémon

Every duelist must have a Base Pokémon to start a game. When you start the game, if you do not have any Base Pokémon in your hand, show it to your opponent. Both players must re-shuffle their decks and re-draw 7 cards until both hands have at least 1 Base Pokémon. Base Pokémon cannot evolve on the same turn they are placed down.

Stage 1 Pokémon

Stage 1 Pokémon is a Pokémon that had evolved from a Base Pokémon. It gains a noticeable HP boost and as well as move set change, if it had battled and had been attacked previously, it still keeps it's damage counters. They cannot evolve on the same turn they are placed down.

Stage 2 Pokémon

Stage 2 Pokémon is a Pokémon that had evolved from a Stage 1 Pokémon. It gains a significant HP boost and as well as move set change, if it had battled and had been attacked previously, it still keeps it's damage counters.

Trainer

Trainer Cards are cards that have various effects that can change the tide of the game into your favour and likewise your opponent as well if they use theirs' effectively. Cards like 'Switch' and 'Professor Oak' are examples of this.

Energy

Energies are needed to execute attacks or switch. However you can place down Energy cards down once per turn on any Pokémon on your side you choose.

There are 9 kinds of Energy Cards:

  • Fighting
  • Fire
  • Grass
  • Water
  • Lightning
  • Psychic
  • Darkness
  • Metal
