Pokémon White (ポケットモンスター ホワイト Pocket Moonsters White) is one of the two Generation V games, with it's counterpart being Pokémon Black. Like the previous generation of games, these will be released on the Nintendo DS.
This game will be based in the Unova Region, and will follow certain trends presented in the previous games. It will feature two player characters, one male and one female, and will travel across the region on a Pokémon Journey. This region is full of Pokémon, some that are exclusive to Black and White. As well as the player receiving one of the three starter Pokémon; Tepig, Snivy, and Oshawott.
The 3D in this game are significantly higher than the other Pokémon games features on the Nintendo DS, predominantly shown though the movement through the over world. Aesthetic changes have also been made to this game that were lacking in previous games, including an altered, and more 3D, battle system provided with full back sprite as well as them being animated when stationary. In select areas, such as Pokécenters and Pokémarts, when talking to people speech bubbles appear over their heads.
It is compatible with all Generation IV games, and transferring them will be similar to that done through PalPark, however obtaining the Pokémon is different. The player is given a crossbow loaded with Pokéballs, and they need to fire them at Pokémon that jump out of the grassy areas. It also has the capability to connect to the Internet and even upload their saved data and play online.
This marks the first time that Europe has gotten a non-Spin-Off Pokemon game before North America.
Only half of the region is playable until defeating the Elite Four, N Harmonia, and Ghetsis.
