Porygon Z (ポリゴンZ) is the 194th Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex. It is a Normal-Type, and is known as the Virtual Pokémon.
A Porygon2 that used the Trace Ability will instead have the Adaptability Ability, an Ability that increases the Same Type Attack Bonus that it receives from 50% to 100%; or Download, which increases either its Attack or Special Attack depending on whether the opponents' Defense or Special Defense is lower. A third Ability is available to Porygon-Z from the Dream World, the Analytic Ability. This Ability increases the power of its Attacks by 30% if it moves last on any given turn.
Porygon can evolve into Porygon2 if it is traded while holding an Upgrade, and can evolve into Porygon-Z if traded while holding a Dubious Disc.
Porygon-Z is in the Mineral Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Porygon-Z One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Competitive Battling
Porygon-Z is a viable option in the Under-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. While it lacks the defenses that Porygon2 has, it more than makes up for it with a staggeringly high Special Attack, which is tied with Alakazam, Darkrai and Volcarona for 13th Highest in the game.
While its Speed maxes out at 306 with a beneficial nature, it still has the right tools needed to be an effective sweeper with a good movepool and not one, but two Abilities that it can use to its advantage. Porygon-Z isn't easy to beat, especially if it has set up with Statistic-boosting moves. Using Haze or forcing a substitution will reset any Statistic changes that it has made will slow those sets down, as will Status Conditions including Paralysis.

[edit] Trivia
- Porygon-Z's signature moves, Conversion and Conversion 2, allow it to temporarily become any of the 16 elemental types. Because of this, it is one of six Pokémon (the others being Arceus, Kecleon and the rest of the Porygon evolutionary line) capable of becoming a pure Flying type.
The sixth and only pure-flying type by default is Tornadus, a Pokémon that was introduced in Generation V.
