Porygon2 (ポリゴン2) is the 221st Pokémon in the Johto Pokédex. It is a Normal-Type, and is known as the Virtual Pokémon.
Porygon2 can use one of two Abilities: Trace, which copies the Ability of the opposing Pokémon, but the Ability that gets copied is selected at Random during a Double Battle or Triple Battle; or Download, which increases either its Attack or Special Attack depending on whether the opponent has a lower Defense or Special Defense. A third Ability is available to Porygon2 from the Dream World, the Analytic Ability. This Ability increases its Attack by 30% if it moves last on any given turn.
Porygon can evolve into Porygon2 if it is traded while holding an Upgrade, and can evolve a second time into Porygon-Z if traded while holding a Dubious Disc.
Porygon2 is in the Mineral Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Porygon 2 One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Pokémon Information
[edit] Competitive Battling
Porygon 2 is a viable option in both the Under-Utilized and Over-Utilized Tiers of Competitive Battling thanks to its usage of Eviolite, which takes its modest Defensive Statistics and makes Porygon 2 into a tank with a lot of firepower. It can also use Trick Room to take advantage of its low Speed. It can also utilize Psyshock to take on Special Walls that try to wall it.
Fighting-Type Pokémon perform well against it, especially if it's lacking any Psychic-Type moves. Any moves or Abilities that can remove its Hold Item can also cripple its defensive capabilities.

[edit] Trivia
- Porygon2's signature moves, Conversion and Conversion 2, allow it to temporarily become any of the 16 elemental types. Because of this, it is one of five Pokémon (the others being Arceus, Kecleon and the rest of the Porygon evolutionary line) capable of becoming a pure Flying type.
A sixth Pokémon is always a pure-Flying Type: Tornadus.
