Psychic Type Pokémon include Mew and Alakazam. They generally have high Special Attack stats, as the majority of Psychic Type Attacking moves are Special. There are, in fact, only 2 Physical Psychic Attacks. Psychic attacks are mostly based around attacking with the mind.

Psychic was considered overpowered in the First Gen due to its only weaknesses, Bug and Ghost, only having moves of pathetic power such as Leech life and and Lick. This was remedied in the second Genaration by the inculison of stronger Bug and Ghost moves, Such as Megahorn and Shadow Ball and the new Dark Type.
