Regigigas レジギガス is the 486th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Normal-Type, and is known as the Colossal Pokémon.

Regigigas uses the Slow Start Ability, an Ability that hinders its potential, halving its Attack and Speed Statistics for the first five turns that it is in battle.

Regigigas doesn't evolve and doesn't have a pre-evolved form.

Regigigas is in the Undiscovered Egg Group; like most Legendary Pokémon Regigigas cannot breed. It takes Regigigas 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Biology

[edit] Physiology

Regigigas takes on the appearance of a ginormous golem-like statue, even larger than the Legendary Golems.

[edit] Gender Differences

Regigigas is a Genderless Pokémon species.

[edit] Game Information

[edit] Original Games

Regigigas can be found inside Snowpoint Temple in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. However, Regirock, Regice and Registeel are all required to be in the trainer's party of six Pokémon in order to revive it from its slumber.

In Black 2 and White 2, Regigigas can be found inside Twist Mountain in a chamber that is behind the room with the Icy Rock. Strength is required to reach where Regigigas slumbers, and like Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, the three Legendary Golems (Regirock, Regice and Registeel) must be in the trainer's party of six Pokémon to awaken it.

[edit] Spin-Off Games

Regigigas can be found inside a special chamber in Aegis Cave in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, but it can be recruited on the second trip to the dungeon. In Mystery Dungeon 3, Regigigas appears on the 24th Floor of either Weird Mountain, Weird Rockland or Weird Forest, but regardless the game Regirock, Regice and Registeel are all required to be in the party in order to battle it.

Regigigas can be found inside Hippowdon Temple in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, but can only be faced after successfully capturing each of the other 266 Pokémon that appear in the Almia Pokédex. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Regigigas is a Boss Pokémon that is used by Societea executive Arley in a battle inside Oblivia Region's Sky Fortress. Both battles are difficult because it creates shockwaves as it walks.

Regigigas can be found at any and all of the game's Deserts in Pokémon Rumble Blast after completing the game.

[edit] Trading Card Game

Regigigas is listed in the Diamond/Pearl Promo (2) set and Pokémon Organized Play Series 9 as a Rare Card. Regigigas is listed as a Rare Card in the Legends Awakened (2), Stormfront and Supreme Victors set; and as an Ultra Rare Card in the Stormfront and Next Destinies (2) sets.

[edit] Anime/Manga Information

[edit] Anime

A Wild Regigigas would be awakened from its resting place within the Snowpoint Temple in Pillars of Friendship by Hunter J. But awakening it enraged it, and it would possess the Regirock, Regice, and Registeel used by Brandon, the Pyramid King. Hunter J would be defeated and forced to retreat, and Regigigas would reanimate Brandon after he had become petrified by Hunter J's beam.

[edit] Movies

Wild Regigigas also makes an appearance in Giratina and the Sky Warrior and Zoroark: Master of Illusions.

[edit] Manga

Regigigas's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.

[edit] Pokémon Information

[edit] Competitive Battling

While its Statistics are impressive, Regigigas finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling due to its Ability, Slow Start, which hinders its Attack and Speed for the first five turns that it is in battle. In that time, the opponent can do a lot in terms of setting up a sweeper, hitting it with a Status Condition, throwing down entry hazards, etc.

However, Regigigas does have a lot of bulk with comparable Defensive Statistics that could vary depending on Individual Values and a high HP. Plus, if it does survive those first five turns that it is in battle, it'll be capable of causing a lot of damage with a very high Attack.

[edit] Area Location

  • NOTE: In each game that Regigigas appears in, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel will have to be in the Trainer's Party in order to awaken Regigigas.
Game Rarity Location
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Only One Snowpoint Ruins
HeartGold/SoulSilver None Trade
Black/White None PokéTransfer, Dream World or Trade
