Relicanth (ジーランス) is the 179th Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Water/Rock type, and is known as the Longevity Pokémon.
Relicanth can use one of two Abilities: Swift Swim, which doubles its Speed when it is raining, but not on the same turn in which it starts to rain, or Rock Head, which gives it an immunity to the effects of recoil damage from moves that cause recoil damage such as Double-Edge or Head Smash. A third Ability is available to Relicanth from the Dream World, the Sturdy Ability. This Ability prevents it from being KO'd in one hit, either by a One-Hit KO attack such as Horn Drill, or being KO'd when its HP is full.
Relicanth does not evolve and does not have a pre-evolved form.
Relicanth is in the Egg Groups Water 1 and Water 2, and its Egg takes approximately 10,240 Steps to hatch. It takes Relicanth 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Pokémon Information
[edit] Competitive Battling
Relicanth finds itself in the Never-Utilized and Rarely-Utilized Tiers of Competitive Battling. Using the Rock Head Ability, it is capable of using Head Smash without worrying about the move's 50% Recoil. While it has a great Defense paired with a good HP and Attack, its other three Statistics are very low-including Speed-especially in comparison.
Special Attacks will really hurt Relicanth, especially Special Attacks that are also Electric and Grass-Type moves, if not one-hit KO Relicanth.
