Slowpoke (ヤドン) the 79th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Water/Psychic-Type, and is known as the Dopey Pokémon.

Slowpoke can use one of two Abilities: Oblivious, which gives it an immunity to the effects of Attract, Taunt, and Pokémon that use the Cute Charm Ability; or Own Tempo, which provides it an immunity to becoming Confused. Slowpoke's Hidden Ability is Regenerator, which restores one-third of its Maximum HP whenever it switches out of battle.

Slowpoke has one of two Evolution options. At Level 37 Slowpoke gain the opportunity to evolve into a Slowbro, or from Generation II onward can evolve into a Slowking if it is traded whilst holding a King's Rock.

Slowpoke is in the Egg Groups Monster and Water 1, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Slowpoke One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Game Information

Original Games

Fishing with the Super Rod is the means of finding a Slowpoke in Red and Blue; doing so at Route 10, the Safari Zone, Celadon City and Seafoam Islands could potentially lead to finding one. In the Japanese version of Blue there was an in-game trade on Cinnabar Island where the trainer requests a Seel in return. Yellow required using Surf to find a Slowpoke instead of Fishing, appearing on Routes 12 & 13 along with Seafoam Islands.

Slowpoke can be found within Slowpoke Well and Tohjo Falls in Gold, Silver and Crystal by way of walking or Surfing.

Leaf Green was the only Generation III game in which a Slowpoke could be found in the wild, but through varying methods Slowpoke could be found at Routes 4, 6, 10-13, 19-25, throughout the Sevii Islands, Safari Zone, Cerulean Cave and just about any town or city along the coast of Kanto where one could fish.

Slowpoke can be found at the North end of Route 205 by using the PokéRadar in Pearl and Platinum. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Slowpoke can appear at Slowpoke Well, Tohjo Falls and the Safari Zone's Rocky Beach as one of the default Pokémon. Slowpoke can also appear on the Pokéwalker Course Beautiful Beach after 1000 steps have been taken, and provided that Poliwag isn't going to appear at the 1500 step mark.

Slowpoke can be found at Abundant Shrine whilst Surfing in Black and White. While Slowpoke appears in the same area in Black 2 and White 2, it won't appear outside of a Swarm. In Pokémon Dream Radar, a Slowpoke can be found in Special Extension B by imputing the following Command Code: Up, Down, Right, Left, Y, R, L.

Slowpoke can be found on Route 12 in X and Y; and a Mirage Cave that randomly appears North of Fallarbor Town or South of Pacifidlog Town in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Slowpoke can be caught in the wild at Route 1, Route 15, Route 16 and Kala'e Bay.

Spin-Off Games

Slowpoke makes appearances at Secret Storage 7, Huge Storage 2, Endless Level 20 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!

In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky Slowpoke can be found at random at End Lake B1-B24. Slowpoke can be found at each version's Secret-themed area 1F-10F in Mystery Dungeon 3.

Slowpoke can be found at Kisara Plains during the Plains Capture Challenge in Pokémon Ranger, its lone appearance in the Pokémon Ranger spin-off series as of writing.

Slowpoke can be found at the Beach Zone in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure. Complete the Tag Race "Gyarados' Aqua Dash" with a time better than 36 seconds to befriend it. In A Crowning Achievement, a trainer of a Slowpoke witnessed her Slowpoke reach the King's Rock and place it on her head, then a Shellder biting onto Slowpoke's head, thus evolving into Slowking.

Brock's mom Lola has a Slowpoke of her own that appears in A Family That Battles Together, Stays Together!! and Grating Spaces.
