Physical Apperance
Squirtle is modeled after a common aquatic sea turtle. The blue color that it acquires is given to Squirtle because of how the ocean reflects blue light on a Seaturtle.
Anime Appearances
Squirtle is one of the first Pokemon Ash catches. Originally Squirtle was a troublemaker and was the leader of a group of Squirtle's called the Squirtle Squad. These Squirtle started a lot of trouble in the local town, by playing pranks on them because the Squirtle were abandoned by their trainers. After there is a fire in the town and the Squirtle Squad puts the fire out, Officer Jenny allows the Squirtle Squad to be the town's fire fighters. The leader of the Squirtle Squad however decides to go on a journey with Ash.
Shiny
Upon the rare appearance of a shiny Squirtle, you will see that it's skin will turn a light purple. Also, the brown shell will turn green.
Game Apperances
Squirtle, as an original starter Pokemon, has appeared in every handheld Pokemon game since Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Green. Unfortunately, in the Second Generation games Pokemon Gold, and Pokemon Silver, it must be imported. In Pokemon FireRed, and Pokemon LeafGreen, it once again is found as a starter Pokemon, yet Pokemon Ruby, and Pokemon Sapphire follow suit as they must be traded from FireRed and LeafGreen. In Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, it must be imported from FireRed and LeafGreen through Pal Park.
