Stealth Rock

Stealth Rock

Stealth Rock is a Rock-Type move introduced in Generation IV. The user drops a layer of "Pointed Rocks" on the opponents side of the field causing all Pokémon who switch in to take damage.
It takes 12.5% of the opponent's max HP but is effected by weakness and resistance, and as a result can cause between 3.125% and 50% damage.

  • Super effective on both types = 50%
  • Super effective on one type, neutral on the other = 25%
  • Neutral on both types, or Super Effective on one type but Resisted by the other = 12.5%
  • Resisted by one type, neutral on the other = 6.25%
  • Resisted by both types = 3.125%

While few Pokémon learn it naturally, many learn it via TM76 in Generation IV. Some Pokémon can learn Stealth Rock naturally in Generation V or by using a Move Tutor.
It can be cleared by the moves Rapid Spin and Defog.
