Swellow uses the Guts Ability. This Ability increases its attack by 50% when this Pokémon is afflicted by one of the five status conditions, and the side-effect of a Burn decreasing its Attack stat does not get applied. A second Ability is avaliable to Swellow from the Dream World, the Scrappy Ability. This Ability allows the Pokémon to strike a Ghost-Type opponent with a Normal-Type attack without having to use Foresight or Odor Sleuth.
Taillow can evolve into a Swellow starting at Level 22.
Swellow is in the Flying Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. It takes Swellow 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
As its name implies, Swellow takes on the appearance of a fully-grown swallow.
 Gender Differences
Swellow doesn't have any distinguishable characteristics to differentiate between male and female.

 Pokémon Information
 Competitive Battling
Swellow is a viable option in the Never-Utilized, Rarely-Utilized and Under-Utilized Tiers of Competitive Battling. Its very high Speed makes it tough to go against, and its mediocre Attack gets a major boost once the Guts Ability is activated, making Facade hit even harder. Brave Bird will also cause a lot of damage as well.
Despite its strengths, it has a few glaringly big flaws: Steel-Type and Rock-Type Pokémon will be able to wall it, as it doesn't learn Close Combat, and its Defenses are very low, making the Pokémon that can wall it viable counters.
