Swellow uses the Guts Ability. This Ability increases its attack by 50% when this Pokémon is afflicted by one of the five status conditions, and the side-effect of a Burn decreasing its Attack stat does not get applied. A second Ability is avaliable to Swellow from the Dream World, the Scrappy Ability. This Ability allows the Pokémon to strike a Ghost-Type opponent with a Normal-Type attack without having to use Foresight or Odor Sleuth.
Taillow can evolve into a Swellow starting at Level 22.
Swellow is in the Flying Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. It takes Swellow 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
As its name implies, Swellow takes on the appearance of a fully-grown swallow.
 Gender Differences

 Pokémon Information
 Competitive Battling
Swellow resides in the Neverused (NU) tier of competitive battling. Having the highest Speed of any Pokémon in NU and the ability to go on the special or physical side of attacking, Swellow is an incredible offensive threat that stands out as one of the tier's best Pokémon. While Swellow's low base 50 Special Attack may say otherwise in terms of a special attacking set being viable, Swellow's access to STAB Boomburst and having the ability Scrappy allows for it to function as one of the tier's best cleaners with Choice Specs. It has Heat Wave to get past certain Boomburst resists like Steelix and Ferroseed. Outside of its Choice Specs set, Swellow can use Guts to function as a powerful physical attacker thanks to its high powered STABs in Facade and Brave Bird. Swellow's main flaws are its lack of bulk and mediocre defensive typing, which limits its sweeping potential and often forces itself out. Its physical set struggles against Rock and Steel-types, and can be worn down easier than the Choice Specs set due to self-inflicted status through Toxic Orb and Brave Bird recoil.
