If Pokémon with Synchronize is afflicted with Paralysis, Poison (Status Condition), or a Burn, that Status Condition is passed back to the Pokémon that afflicted said Status Condition to Synchronize's user. Synchronize won't reflect a Burn to a Pokémon of the Fire-Type or a Pokémon with the Water Veil Ability; a Poison or Steel-Type Pokémon, along with a Pokémon with the Immunity Ability cannot be Poisoned; and a Pokémon with the Limber Ability cannot become Paralyzed.
Synchronize doesn't pass the Status Conditions Sleep or Freeze, nor will it activate if the Pokémon with Synchronize was holding an item that causes a status condition, such as a Toxic Orb. Before Generation V, Synchronize will pass on severe poisoning as regular poisoning. Starting in the fifth generation, Synchronize will pass severe poison as severe poison.
Starting with Pokémon Emerald, when a Pokémon with Synchronize is in the party's first slot, there is a 50% chance of finding a Wild Pokémon with the same nature as the Pokémon that has Synchronize. This does not apply, however, to the Pokémon that can only be encountered once per save file.
Additionally, Synchronize won't work when a Pokémon with this Ability is out for a stroll on the Pokéwalker, or the Dream World Pokémon that appear within the Entree Forest.
