Tepig is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Tepig 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Tepig bears a striking resemblance to a pig; it's primarily orange with distinctive black markings on its head, waist and feet, as well as orange and red colorings placed around other parts of its body. It has large, oval shaped eyes and a pig-like snout with a thick yellow stripe. Tepig's long, black, oblong ears are close together at the top of its head and it has short legs with black extremities. Tepig's tail dons a plump red sphere at the end.
Tepig has no distinguished features that make it appear male or female.
Tepig is one of the three Starter Pokémon available to the player in Nuvema Town of the Unova region when they begin the game, given by Professor Juniper. Tepig is also a Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2.
Trading Card Game
Two Tepig cards are listed as a Common Card in the Black&White set. Five other Tepig cards are listed as Promotional Cards: the Journey Friends promotional set (Japanese), a McDonalds Promo, two Black/White Promo Cards in English and three Black/White Promo Cards in Japanese.
Tepig appears early on in Pokémon Black and White being offered to Trip as one of the region's Starter Pokémon. Trip ends up choosing Snivy instead. In the episode The Battle Club and Tepig's Choice! a Tepig fools everyone into believing it's a rare Umbreon when it tries to steal food from the Battle Club storage room - it does so only because it is malnourished and hungry after its Trainer left it tied up after losing at the Battle Club.
Ash takes care of Tepig and unties the rope from its snout. Tepig appreciates Ash's help and joins his team from that point forward. Tepig is a male, as seen in the episode Snivy Plays Hard to Catch!, when Tepig helps Ash battle and capture a Snivy.
Ash's Tepig appears in both versions of Pokémon Movie 14.
Tepig's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.
Tepig is listed in the NFE, or Not Fully Evolved Tier of Competitive Battling as it is an unevolved Pokémon.
