Thunder is an Electric-Type move that drops a vicious thunderbolt onto its opponent, leaving a 30% chance of afflicting the Pokémon hit with Paralysis.

When under the effects of Rain Dance or the Drizzle Ability, Thunder can not miss, and has a 30% chance to hit through Protect and Detect. However, the Accuracy of Thunder drops to 50% during periods in which the Drought Ability or Sunny Day are in effect.

Accuracy remains unchanged during periods of Hail or Sandstorm.

Thunder had a Base Power of 120 for the first five Generations before being reduced to 110 in Generation VI.
