Tin Tower

Tin Tower
The Tin Tower (Japanese: スズのとう Tin Tower) is found in Ecruteak City, located in the Johto region. In Pokémon Gold, Silver, after obtaining the Rainbow Wing, the player is allowed to climb to the top of the tower. At the top, the player will find the legendary pokémon, Ho-oh. In Pokémon Crystal, once a player obtains the Clear Bell, they will be able to capture Suicune at the tower's top. The Tin tower is found in Ecruteak City after going through the Bellchime trail. In order to get to the top you must have the Rainbow wing wich is give to you by the Kimono Girls (If you have Heart Gold) or by a man in Pewter City (If you have Soul Silver). To gain access to Bellchime Trail you must have beaten the Ecruteak City gym leader, Morty. In Pokémon Crystal you must capture all the Legendary Beasts in order to have Ho-oh return to Tin Tower. Overall this is a must visit place for those who want to capture Ho-oh or just go there for sight seeing and training of some sort.

Bellchime Trail

The Bellchime Trail (Japanese: スズねのこみち Ringing Suzu Path) is a place where Morty the Ecruteak City gym leader shows up on tuesdays, you may talk to him there and ask for his phone number for a rematch in the Saffron City Dojo that's right next to the Saffron City gym. Bellchime trail resembles what fall would generally look like and has brown leaves scattered every where with a path that follows with goldish-brown trees. You can find a tiny mushroom and a large mushroom here with a Pokéradar. To get access to Bellchime trail you must beat the gym leader Morty and then you have permission to go through Bellchime Trail to Tin Tower as you please. Bellchime Trail is the only to get to Tin tower so make sure to beat Morty before you go otherwise obtaining Ho-oh will become impossible.

Capturing Ho-oh

Ho-oh Lv.70

Ability: Pressure

Move Description
Fire Blast The foe is attacked with an intense blast of all-consuming fire. It may also leave the target with a burn.
Sunny Day The user intensifies the sun for five turns, powering up Fire-type moves.
Recover A self-healing move. The user restores its own HP by up to half of its max HP.
Swift Star-shaped rays are shot at the foe. This attack never misses

To capture Ho-oh, you should use a strong Special Attack move like Hydro Pump when weakening it. Keep in mind though that it likes to use Recover a lot, so use a move like Hypnosis to prevent it from doing so, while throwing a Pokeball at it.
