Tropius can have one of two Abilities: Chlorophyll, which doubles its Speed when the weather is sunny but not on the same turn as the weather switch; or Solar Power, an Ability that increases its Special Attack by 50%, but its HP decreases every turn as a result. A third Ability is available to Tropius from the Dream World, the Harvest Ability. This Ability allows it to reuse the same berry infinitely within the span of one battle.
Tropius does not evolve and does not have a pre-evolved form.
Tropius takes on an appearance similar to that of a Sauropod with grass-like wings and bananas growing out from under its neck.
Tropius doesn't have any gender differences to differentiate between male and female.
Tropius appears at Secret Storage 16, Endless Level 21 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Tropius appears at Sky Tower 22F-25F, Sky Tower Top 1F-8F, Lightning Field 20F-29F and Joyous Tower 86F-91F in the first round of Mystery Dungeon games. In Dungeon Time & Darkness and Dungeon Sky, Tropius appears at Hidden Land 1F-15F & I1F-8F, but can't be recruited. Tropius also appears at Sky Rift B12-B15 & DPB1-B2 in Explorers of Time & Explorers of Darkness; the floors are the same in Explorers of Sky but the dungeon is called Sky Fissure.
Tropius has yet to appear in any of the Pokémon Ranger games as of writing.
Tropius can be found at Everspring Valley Forest 4-2 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.
Trading Card Game
Tropius appears in 7 sets and the 6th Movie Halfdeck. Its lone listing as a Common Card is in the Unleashed set, and its only two listings as an Uncommon Card are in the Mysterious Treasures and Rising Rivals sets. Tropius is listed as a Rare Card in the EX Hidden Legends, EX Deoxys, EX Dragon Frontiers (Delta Species Card) and Undaunted sets.
A Wild Tropius was competing with Ash's Grovyle for the affections of Nurse Joy's Meganium in the episode Odd Pokémon Out! Despite evolving into Sceptile, Tropius would win out, leaving Sceptile out of the mix.
Most recently, another Co-Ordinator used a Tropius in the episode May, We Harley Drew'd Ya!
Other trainers used a Tropius in the films Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and The Rise of Darkrai. Wild Tropius appeared in the films Jirachi Wishmaker, Destiny Deoxys and Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
A Tropius that once belonged to Professor Birch appears under Sapphire's command in Chapter 213, which she uses as a means of aerial transportation.
Tropius finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. While it does have some usable moves and a relatively good typing defensively, its low Speed limits its capabilities, and it has some glaringly common weaknesses, including a double-weakness to Ice-Type moves.
