Tyrantrum (Kalos Coastal Pokédex. It is a Rock/Dragon-Type, and is known as the Despot Pokémon.) is the 65th Pokémon in the
Tyrantrum uses the Strong Jaw Ability, which increases the power of its Biting attacks by 50%. Tyrantrum's Hidden Ability is Rock Head, which nullifies recoil damage from recoil-causing moves that it would take otherwise.
Tyrantrum takes on the appearance of a fully-grown Tyrannosaurus Rex. Tyrantrum is primarily brick-red, save for its underside and below its jaw, which takes on a light shade of gray. It has orange spikes on its head that grow at an angle, and the fur on its collar is white and takes on a spiky appearance.
Tyrantrum doesn't have any visible differences to differentiate between male and female.

Tyrantrum resides in the Borderline 2 (BL2) tier of competitive battling, meaning that it is banned from the Rarelyused (RU) tier but not used enough to be a part of the Underused (UU) tier. With powerful STAB attacks in a recoil-free Head Smash courtesy of Rock Head and Outrage, Tyrantrum can be a destructive Choice Band wallbreaker. Its good overall movepool allows it to use coverage moves to cover its bases very well. It also has great physical bulk and some nice resistances to Poison, Flying, and Fire attacks, which allows for it to switch into Pokémon like Crobat and Darmanitan. It can also run a Rock Polish set to patch up its low base Speed and become a sweeping threat. However, Tyrantrum's Speed stat leaves it easily revenge killed by many threats in the tier, while its common weaknesses and low Special Defense leave it prone to being taken out by many threats in the tier.
Tyrantrum is a niche threat in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. With a great boosting move in Dragon Dance, an ability in Rock Head that allows it to spam Head Smash, a nice secondary Dragon-typing, and good coverage for Steel-types, Tyrantrum has the tools to be a viable offensive threat. It can act as a sweeper with Dragon Dance, revenge killer with Choice Scarf, or a wallbreaker with Choice Band. Tyrantrum can also utilize some of its useful resistances to Electric, Flying, and Fire, which can allow it to beat common Pokémon like Talonflame and Mega Manectric. Despite these traits, Tyrantrum is held back by its low Speed for an offensive threat and numerous common weaknesses which makes the OU tier a very hostile environment for Tyrantrum to thrive.
