Unown (アンノーン Annon) is a fictional creature in the Pokemon series. Unown is a pokemon derived from the English alphabet and is the first Pokemon known to have multiple forms. At first, there were only 26 Unown know in the Pokemon world (A-Z), but during the 3rd Generation of games, Unown ! and ? were introduced.

There are 28 forms of Unown currently. Each one connects to the circular eye, and then adds lines, curves or other features to make the form of a letter.

Shiny

Upon the rare appearance of a shiny Unown, you will notice the black color will change to a royal blue color.

Game Apperances

Unown has appeared in every handheld Pokemon game since Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver, but has to be traded to Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Sapphire, and Pokemon Emerald

Effort Values

When an opponent Pokemon battles an Unown and defeats it, it will gain one effort value in Attack, and Special Attack. Because of this, when EV training for Mixed Sweepers, Unown is a prime choice.
