Vaporeon (シャワーズ) is the 134th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Water-Type, and is known as the Bubble Jet Pokémon.

Vaporeon uses the Water Absorb Ability, which recovers up to 1/4th of its maximum HP when hit with a Water-Type move. Its Hidden Ability is Hydration, which heals all Status Conditions when it is raining.

Eevee gain the opportunity to evolve into Vaporeon when exposed to a Water Stone.

Vaporeon is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 8,960 steps to hatch. It takes Vaporeon 1,000,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

The most notable appearance comes in the Sinnoh Grand Festival where Ursala actually evolves one of her Eevee into a Vaporeon as part of her appeal.

Pokémon Information

Competitive Battling

Vaporeon currently resides in the RarelyUsed (RU) tier. Vaporeon is among many bulky Water-types and faces immense competition from other bulky waters such as Suicune, Empoleon, and Swampert, all of which have more significant niches than Vaporeon does. Vaporeon's biggest competition is Alomomola, who has much higher physical bulk than Vaporeon does allowing it to counter Pokemon like Mamoswine that Vaporeon gets 2HKOed by, great ability in Regenerator, and ability to similarly pass huge Wishes to other Pokemon. However, Vaporeon does benefit from having better special bulk than Alomomola, along with helpful support moves like Roar and Heal Bell that Alomomola lacks, with the former keeping Vaporeon from being setup bait while the latter makes Vaporeon capable of performing as a cleric. Vaporeon's ability Water Absorb has its own perks such as being able to counter Suicune with no real problems and phase it out with Roar to avoid being setup bait.
