Vigoroth (ヤルキモノ) is the 37th Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Normal Type, and it is known as the Wild Monkey Pokémon.

Unlike the other forms in its evolutionary line, Vigoroth uses the Vital Spirit Ability. This Ability gives it an immunity to the Sleep condition while this ability is active.

Slakoth can evolve into a Vigoroth starting at Level 18. It can evolve a second time into Slaking starting at Level 36.

Vigoroth is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. It takes Vigoroth 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Biology

[edit] Physiology

Vigoroth takes on the appearance of a light-colored chimpanzee with claws.

[edit] Gender Differences

Vigoroth doesn't have any distinguishable characteristics to differentiate between male and female.

[edit] Game Information

[edit] Original Games

Vigoroth can only be obtained by evolving a Slakoth in Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and White. Vigoroth can be found in the wild at the Peak Area of the Safari Zone in Heart Gold and Soul Silver by placing 10 Plains Objects and 19 Forest Objects. Vigoroth will start appearing in this area after 60 Days if all conditions are retained for that period of time.

Vigoroth can be found inside Pinwheel Forest in Black 2 and White 2.

[edit] Spin-off Games

Vigoroth appears at Endless Levels 57 & 65, Forever Level 7 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.

Vigoroth appears at Mt. Freeze 7F-11F and Mt. Faraway 10F-19F in the first Mystery Dungeon game. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Vigoroth appears at the first 20 floors of Blizzard Island, Crevice Cave B1-B10 & DPB1-B4, and Mt. Avalanche B1-B19. Vigoroth appears in all three versions of Mystery Dungeon 3. It appears at 11F-20F of Secret Archipelago in Blazing Adventure Squad, 11F-20F of Secret Highland in Stormy Adventure Squad, and 11F-20F of Secret Rockmountain in Light Adventure Squad.

Vigoroth appears at the Olive Jungle in Pokémon Ranger. This is the only appearance of Vigoroth in the Pokémon Ranger series to date, as it does not appear in the two sequels.

Vigoroth can be found at Desolated Ruins Canyon 3-1 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

[edit] Trading Card Game

Vigoroth appears in seven sets. It is listed as an Uncommon Card in the EX Ruby and Sapphire, EX Sandstorm, EX Deoxys, EX Power Keepers, Mysterious Treasures, Platinum and Dragons Exalted sets.

[edit] Anime/Manga Information

[edit] Anime

Norman's Vigoroth has made the bulk of Vigoroth's anime appearances. It went against Ash in a Gym Battle at Petalburg Gym, in which it was defeated by Pikachu, only for Pikachu to faint shortly thereafter, eliminating it from the battle.

Notably, a Wild Vigoroth appeared in the episode The Garden Of Eatin', in which it took on a wild Snorlax that was causing trouble at the banana orchard in which it was living at.

[edit] Movies

Vigoroth appears in Zoroark:Master of Illusions, the lone movie appearance for Vigoroth to date.

[edit] Manga

Vigoroth's Manga info is unknown at this time.

[edit] Pokémon Information

[edit] Competitive Battling

Vigoroth finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. In addition to having a good Speed and usable Attack and Defense Statistics, it gains defensive bulk as long as it is holding an Eviolite. Its Speed also makes it an option to break down the Pokémon that stall.

Ghost-Type Pokémon such as Haunter and Misdreavus are capable of shutting down Vigoroth, along with afflicting it with a Burn or Paralysis to slow it down. Special Attacks will really hurt Vigoroth, even if it's holding an Eviolite.
