Wartortle (カメール) is the eighth Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Water Type, and it is known as the Turtle Pokemon.

Wartortle has the Torrent Ability. This Ability powers up its Water-type moves when its HP falls below a third of its Maximum. A second Ability is available to Wartortle from the Dream World, the Rain Dish Ability. This Ability allows it to recover HP when it's raining in battle.

Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at level 16, and can evolve a second time into Blastoise starting at level 36.

Wartortle is in the Egg Groups Monster and Water 1, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Wartortle 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Manga

Prior to Green's confrontation with Red at Celadon City in Chapter 15, her Squirtle had evolved into a Wartortle. This Wartortle, to whom she nicknamed "Turtley" would also appear in Chapters 16 & 17.

A Wartortle also appeared as a Rental Pokémon in Chapters 306, 315, 325, 32 & 329.

[edit] Pokémon Information

[edit] Competitive Battling

Wartortle finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling thanks to its access to the combination of Foresight and Rapid Spin, which allows it to remove entry hazards against Ghost-Type Pokémon with the exception of Shedinja. While Wartortle is limited to this one niche due to low offensive Statistics, it can still perform this role effectively, but must be wary of powerful Grass and Electric-Type Pokémon, who can still get a One-Hit KO against a Wartortle that's holding an Eviolite.
