Whirlpede (ホイーガ) is the 50th Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. It is a Bug/Poison type, and it is known as the Curlipede Pokémon.

Whirlipede can have one of two Abilities Poison Point, which has a 30% chance of poisoning the opponent when its uses an attack that requires physical contact against this Pokémon with the exception of Pokémon with the Immunity ability and Poison-or-Steel-types, or Swarm, which increases the power of Bug-Type attacks by 1.5 times when this Pokémon's HP falls below one-third of its maximum. Whirlipede's Hidden Ability is the Quick Feet Ability, which increases Speed by 50% when a status is induced on it with the exceptions of Paralysis, and-in this instance-Poisoning because Poison-Types cannot be Poisoned.

Venipede can evolve into Whirlipede at Level 22, and gain the opportunity to evolve into Scolipede starting at Level 30.

Whirlipede is in the Bug Egg Group, and its Egg will take approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. It takes Whirlipede 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Whirlipede take the appearance of a mix between a rolled-up pillbug with the antennae of a centipede.

Whirlipede can be found inside the Pinwheel Forest in Black and White. In Black 2 and White 2, Whirlipede appear at the Pinwheel Forest and Lostlorn Forest.

Whirlipede appears within the Arbor Area's Verdant Courts in PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond after befriending Venipede. Befriending it requires you to defeat it in a tag race.

Whirlipede appears within the Pupa Nation and Poison Fang Nation in Pokémon Conquest.

Burgh uses a Whirlipede in his Gym Battle against Ash. It would appear to have the upper hand against Ash's Sewaddle, but it evolved into Swadloon during the matchup, and it would subsequently lose to Swadloon.
