Yanmega (Sinnoh Pokédex. It is a Bug/Flying Type, and is known as the Ogre Darner Pokémon.) is the 184th Pokémon in the
Yanmega can use one of two Abilities: Speed Boost, which increases its Speed by one stage for each full turn that it is in battle; or Tinted Lens, which doubles the power of moves that the target of said moves would otherwise resist. A third Ability is available to Yanmega from the Dream World, the Frisk Ability. This Ability reveals the opposing Pokémon's Hold Item at the start of a battle if an opposing Pokémon is using a Hold Item.
Yanmega is in the Bug Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Yanmega One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Yanmega takes on an appearance similar to that of a Meganeura, a large dragonfly from prehistoric times. The majority of its body is green, save for the red spots on each segment, red eyes, and clear wings with red tips.
Yanmega doesn't have any differences to differentiate between male and female.
The only games in which a Yanmega can be found in the wild is Black 2 and White 2; in these games Yanmega can be found at Route 3 and Outside the Pinwheel Forest. The only way to obtain a Yanmega is to evolve a Yanma in Black, White, and all five Generation IV titles.
Yanmega can be found at Amp Plains 9F-10F & I1F-4F in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky. Yanmega is exclusive to Stormy Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Weird Rockland 19F-23F.
Yanmega appears inside the Altru Building in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Yanmega appears during a battle against the Pokémon Pinchers, and can be found at Rand's House in the Present, but Yanmega doesn't appear in the Past Missions.
Yanmega can be found at World Axle Forest B1 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.
Trading Card Game
Yanmega is listed in Pokémon Organized Play Series 8 as a Rare Card. Yanmega is listed as an Uncommon Card in the Triumphant set and as a Rare Card in the Legends Awakened, Rising Rivals, Supreme Victors and Dragons Exalted sets. A second Yanmega is listed in the Triumphant set as an Ultra Rare Card.
Jessie's Yanma would evolve into a Yanmega during the episode Thief That Keeps On Thieving. She would continue to use Yanmega until it was placed in reserve after the episode Memories Are Made of Bliss.
Wild Yanmega make an appearance in The Rise of Darkrai. Jessie's Yanmega makes an appearance in the Pikachu Short "Pikachu's Great Ice Adventure."
Yanmega's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.
Yanmega is a part of the Borderline 2 (BL2) tier of competitive battling. With two great abilities in Speed Boost and Tinted Lens, Yanmega can act as either a cleaner or a wallbreaker depending on which ability it chooses. It has a strong base 116 Special Attack and a good 95 base Speed that can be further bolstered with Speed Boost. Yanmega's best set is its Choice Specs Tinted Lens wallbreaker set that can deal heavy damage with its STAB attacks while blasting through Bug and Flying resists. A Speed Boost Life Orb set is also an option that allows for Yanmega to get progressively faster and wreak havoc on weakened teams. However, Yanmega is not very bulky and suffers from a bad defensive typing that leaves it x4 weak to Stealth Rock.
