Zygarde (ジガルデ) is the 150th Pokémon in the Kalos Mountain Pokédex. It is a Dragon/Ground-Type, and is known as the Order Pokémon.

Zygarde can possess one of two Abilities; Aura Break, which takes the effects of Aura-Based Abilities and reverses them, or Power Construct, which allows it to transform into its Complete Form when its HP reaches below half of its maximum.

Zygarde cannot evolve and doesn't have a pre-evolved form.

Zygarde is in the Undiscovered Egg Group; like most Legendary Pokémon Zygarde cannot breed. It takes Zygarde 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Biology

Physiology

Zygarde takes on appearance similar to that of a cobra. The majority of its body is green, except for its chest, head and the frill-like adornments that are on its back and right side. There are multiple hexagon-like patterns on Zygarde's body, including on its main body, head and back adornments. The four hexagons on its head are its eyes.

Gender Differences

Zygarde is a Genderless Pokémon Species.

Game Information

Original Games

Zygarde can be found within Terminus Cave after defeating the Elite Four in Pokémon X and Y.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Zygarde Cells and Cores are scattered around the Alola region, which Sina and Dexio tasks the player with finding all 100 of them with the Zygarde Cube. Different formes of Zygarde can be constructed using the Reassembly Unit on Route 16. 10% Zygarde can be constructed using 10 Zygarde Cells, while 50% Zygarde uses 50 Zygarde Cells with Aura Break, or 100 with Power Construct.

Pokémon Information

Competitive Battling

Zygarde resides in the Borderline (BL) tier of competitive battling, meaning that it is too broken to be allowed in the Underused (UU) tier but not used enough to be a part of the Overused (OU) tier. With well-rounded stats that give it good bulk to work with, decent attack power, and some nice movepool options, Zygarde is far from being an inferior Garchomp. Two boosting moves in Coil and Dragon Dance give Zygarde sweeping potential in the tier, with the former being something that allows Zygarde to stand out from the crowd of physical Dragon-type sweepers. Its STABs give it good overall coverage, and Zygarde also has access to strong priority in the form of Extreme Speed. A Substitute + Coil set takes full advantage of Zygarde's bulk and makes it a formidable foe to take down. A Dragon Dance set gives Zygarde more offensive power and allows for it to have a good chance at sweeping once its checks are removed. However, Zygarde suffers from lacking a reliable Dragon STAB attack, great immediate power in comparison to other Dragon-types like Garchomp, and a good ability to stand out from its competition.
