Cobalion's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.
Cobalion is a part of the Underused (UU) tier of competitive battling. With good versatility, Cobalion is capable of running many different sets due to well-balanced stats that allow for it to either support a team or become a set-up sweeper. Having a STAB move to super effectively hit Fairy-types allows for Cobalion to stand out in comparison to other Fighting-types. Cobalion's resistance to Dark, great Defense stat, and Justified to gain an Attack boost from Dark attacks allow for it to be a great Knock Off absorber. Cobalion's typing also gives it a x4 resistance to Stealth Rock and immunity to Toxic Spikes, meaning that it is not hampered by entry hazards too easily. Cobalion's best set is an offensive pivot set with Stealth Rock support while acting as a decently strong physical attacking force and having Volt Switch to gain momentum for a team. A Swords Dance set boosts Cobalion's Attack stat to high levels and gives Cobalion a means to sweep, and its base 108 Speed allows it to outspeed a good portion of the tier while not being as easy to revenge kill. Lastly, Cobalion can opt for a Calm Mind set that can pull some surprises on supposed checks like Doublade. Despite all these great traits, Cobalion is not flawless, as it suffers from lacking immediate power due to average 90/90 offenses that can be underwhelming without a boost. Cobalion also has a low base 72 Special Defense and common weaknesses to Ground, Fighting, and Fire attacks.
Cobalion is also usable in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. Similar to its role in UU, Cobalion can run an offensive pivot set that can check threats like Bisharp and Mega Gardevoir while being able to gain momentum for a team with Volt Switch and supporting the team with Stealth Rock. A high Defense stat and good typing allows for it to get switch in opportunities to set up Stealth Rock or grab momentum. However, Cobalion's lackluster offensive stats make it hard for it to dish out significant damage to a good chunk of the tier. It also has some very common weaknesses to Fire, Fighting, and Ground attacks, which can be very troublesome for Cobalion.
Cobalion cannot breed.
