Crobat uses the Inner Focus Ability. This Ability protects it from flinching, even if it was hit by Fake Out. Its Hidden Ability is Infiltrator, which nullifies the opponents' defensive screens, such as Reflect, Light Screen, Substitute or Safeguard.

Crobat is in the Underused (UU) tier of competitive battling. With decent overall stats including a high 130 base Speed and a unique typing, Crobat makes for a great check to many specific threats in the tier, such as Heracross, Shaymin, and Roserade. Its bulk holds up well against many threats in the tier, and its movepool consists of great support options like Defog, Taunt, U-turn, and Roost. Therefore, it can act as a great team supporter that can stay relatively healthy throughout the game thanks to reliable recovery. Due to its high Speed and decent Attack stats to go along with a strong STAB in Brave Bird, Crobat can go a more offensive route with a Choice Band route that can deal heavy damage to offensive teams. However, Crobat's bulk can only take it so far especially considering its weakness to Stealth Rock. Its Choice Band set cannot muscle through some of the more defensive Pokémon in the tier due to having only base 90 Attack.
