Diggersby resides in the Borderline (BL) tier of competitive battling, meaning it is usable in the Overused (OU) tier but banned from Underused (UU). Thanks to Huge Power, Diggersby is a destructive wallbreaker capable of tearing apart teams with its STABs. It has surprisingly good coverage with Return and Earthquake hitting many Pokemon hard, while coverage like Fire Punch and Wild Charge can take care of defensive Pokémon that would otherwise wall it. Swords Dance gives Diggersby a means to destroy defensive cores, and Quick Attack is a nice form of priority that can somewhat remedy Diggersby's relatively lackluster speed while knocking out faster, frailer threats. Diggersby can opt for a Choice Scarf set that allows it to act as a strong revenge killer while still retaining strong power. The main downfall of Diggersby is its speed and bulk, which are both relatively lacking and makes Diggersby vulnerable to the fast and hard hitting Pokémon, particularly ones that can tank a boosted Quick Attack like Mega Metagross.
