Muk (ベトベトン) is the 89th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Poison-Type, and is known as the Sludge Pokémon.

Muk can use one of two Abilities; Stench, which has a chance of flinching the opponent when physical contact is made, or Sticky Hold, which prevents the Pokémon's item from being taken. Its Hidden Ability is Poison Touch, which has a 30% chance of poisoning the opponent when physical contact is made.

Grimer evolves into Muk upon reaching Level 38.

Muk is in the Amorphous Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 steps to hatch. It takes Muk 1,000,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Muk is similar to its previous stage, Grimer, though it has gotten a lot bigger through evolution. Muk is made out of a purple toxic waste which is apparently less dense than water.

Original Games

Muk can be caught in the wild at the Pokémon Mansion in Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow, as well as the Power Plant in Yellow. In Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, it can be caught at Route 16, Route 17, Route 18 and Celadon City.

In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and FireRed, Muk can only be obtained by evolving a Grimer. It can be caught at the Pokémon Mansion in LeafGreen, however.

Muk can only be obtained by evolving a Grimer in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, it can be found in Route 16, Route 17, Route 18 and Celadon City. It can also be caught in the Marshland area of the Safari Zone, by placing 8 Water objects to encounter it in the tall grass, or 16 Water objects to encounter by using Surf.

In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Muk can be caught in the wild at Route 9 and the Castelia Sewers. It can also be caught in a Hidden Grotto on Route 9.

Muk can be caught in the Friend Safari in Pokémon X and Y. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, it can only be obtained by evolving a Grimer.

Emerald It prefers warm and humid habitats. In the summertime, the toxic substances in its body intensify, making Muk reek like putrid kitchen garbage.
FireRed It is usually undetectable because it blends in with the ground. Touching it can cause terrible poisoning.
