Reuniclus (ランクルス) is the 85th Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. It is a Psychic-Type, and it is known as the Multiplying Pokémon.

Reuniclus can use one of two Abilities: Overcoat, which protects it from taking damage related to the weather; or Magic Guard, which eliminates damage from everything but attacks that deal damage directly. A third Ability is available to Duosion that come from the Dream World, the Regenerator Ability. Reuniclus with this Ability will restore up to one-third of its maximum HP when it is switched out.

Solosis evolve into Duosion at Level 32 and evolve into Reuniclus at Level 41.

Reuniclus is in the Amorphous Egg Group, and its Egg will take approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Reuniclus 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Reuniclus takes on the appearance of a small human-shaped being with stubby feet and arms extending from the torso. Like its previous forms, its body is encased in a special green liquid.

Pokémon Information

Competitive Battling

Reuniclus finds itself in the Underused (UU) tier of competitive battling. With good overall bulk and a high 125 base Special Attack, Reuniclus stands out as a premier Psychic-type in the tier capable of taking a bulky approach to sweeping or an all-out offensive approach. With a great boosting move in Calm Mind that makes it harder for special attackers to take Reuniclus out, a reliable recovery move in Recover, and a great ability in Magic Guard that protects it from residual damage like burn and poison, Reuniclus can become a thorn to opposing teams. Reuniclus can also opt for a more offensive approach with a Trick Room set that offsets Reuniclus's terrible Speed stat and allows for it to deal heavy damage with Life Orb recoil-free attacks. However, Reuniclus does suffer from the fact that it is immensely slow and has a mediocre defensive typing that leaves it open to getting destroyed by Pokémon like Hydreigon.

Reuniclus is also viable in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. With STAB Psyshock to set it apart from another Magic Guard Calm Mind user in Clefable, Reuniclus can win Calm Mind wars against other Pokémon while being able to beat Chansey as well. Reuniclus can handle certain threats, such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Venusaur, and Choice Scarf Heatran, thanks to its bulk and resistances. Reuniclus can take advantage of numerous defensive stalwarts on stall teams thanks to its immunity to entry hazards and status. However, Reuniclus does suffer from its inability to get past Calm Mind Mega Sableye and has a mediocre defensive typing that leaves it open to some huge threats like Bisharp and Weavile.
