Some Water types, such as Suicune and Swampert, are very bulky and can withstand a lot of hits. Water is one of the most widespread types in the series, as there are a total of 146 Water-Type Pokémon (156 including alternate forms and Mega forms) as of Generation VII and a total of 31 Water-Type attacks, three of which are Z-Moves and one of which can be either Physical or Special.
Certain Pokémon of this type use a Water Stone to evolve to the next stage in their chains.
This table represents how a Water-Type matches up against other types of Pokémon. This only represents pure Water-Types, and can vary depending on the second-type of a Dual-Type Water Pokémon.
